Our school is operated under a three way partnership between the BC Ministry of Education, Hefei Secondary School, and Kenzi Education. We are now completing our third year and we have our first graduating class of 60 students. Currently we have an enrolment of 150 students and we are projecting 180-210 students for the 2014-15 school year.

Our school is located on the 5th floor on the International building of Hefei ? Secondary School.

An American program is located on the 4th floor. Many of our Canadian teachers socialize with our American friends. Our school is modern. Each classroom is equipped with a teacher podium, an overhead projector, a document reader, and a sound system. We have a small but growing professional library of teacher resources. Next year, we will be getting our new, modern computer lab with 36 computers! We also have an online study room, where students can use their own computers and can take a distant education class if needed. The only thing our school does not have is our own science labs. We share our labs with the `main school``.

The main school is the best school by reputation in the city and the province. It has about 7,000 students. You should see Flag Raising ceremony on Mondays! That is a lot of students. One of the best things about the main school is the cafeteria. There is a lot of delicious food to choose from and the average price for a meal is 5-9 rmb. (about 1-2 Canadian dollars) It is a great way to save money!

Monthly Salary: RMB 22,000 or above

 

Requirements:

1. A BC Certificate of Qualification issued by the BC Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB) or
2. An Independent School Teaching Certificate issued by the BC TRB (with min. 2 years experience in a BC on-shore independent school)

Requirements for Attaining a BC Certificate of Qualification

Education Qualifications:
1. Must minimally hold a bachelors degree
2. Must have completed a valid teacher education program (including teaching practicum)

Additional Requirements:
3. Must provide character reference forms
4. Must successfully complete a criminal record check
5. Must be proficient in English
6. Must have recent teaching experience (within last 10 years)

Note that candidates who hold a valid teaching certificate issued by a Canadian province other than BC will be eligible for a BC TRB certificate. However, the process can still take several weeks to complete. Candidates holding a valid teaching certificate from another country may still be eligible, but will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
