Shijiazhuang is the capital and largest city of North China's Hebei province. Administratively a prefecture-level city, it is about 280 kilometres (170 mi) southwest of Beijing, it had a total population of 10,163,788, with 2,861,784 in the urban area in 2010 and 3,995,290 in its builtup (or metro) area, made of 5 urban districts plus Luquan City, and the counties of Zhengding and Luancheng. Gaocheng City is about to be part of the Shijiazhuang metropolitan area, its urbanisation still growing.

Shijiazhuang is a newly industrialised city. It experienced dramatic growth after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949.

Shijiazhuang University is located in Shijiazhuang City, the capital of Hebei Province. It is 280 kms to the south of Beijing, the capital of China. It has both a good geographical location and a favorable economic environment. Set up in 1956, the University in a comprehensive institution of higher learning with seven branchesiterature, law, science, polytechnic, economics, pedagogies and management. There are 15 departments in the University: Law and Politics, Literature and Media, English, History, Pedagogies, Musicology, Arts, Physical Education, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Resources and Environment, Computer Science and Adult Education.

 

There are 44 undergraduate and three-year University majors with a full-time student body of 10256. The teaching and research staff of Shijiazhuang University is not only large in number, but also high in their teaching and research level. It has a staff of 780 with 480 full-time teachers. There are 160 professors and associate professors. There are also 30 part-time professors and five foreign experts. Among the teaching body, 13 have doctorates and 193 have master degrees.

Monthly Salary: 10,000 RMB or above

Teaching hours: 16 classes per week

Paid Holiday
Two days off per week. New Year in January (1) day; Chinese New Year in January/February (3) days; Qing Ming Festival in April (1) day; Labor Day in May (1) day; Mid-autumn Festival in August (1) day; **National Day in October (3) day; Winter holiday 20 days.

*The common practice in China for golden week holiday in October is such that the employee will have 7 consecutive days off. (3 days paid holiday, 2 weekend days, 2 extra days to be compensated for by employee working on weekends either before or after the golden week).
