Hefei City, Anhui province

    

Hefei is the capital and largest city of the Chinese province of Anhui. A prefecture-level city, it is the political, economic, and cultural center of Anhui. Its population was 7,965,300 as of 2017 sampling and its built-up (or metro) area made up of 5 urban districts plus Feidong and Changfeng counties being urbanized, was home to 6,173,000 inhabitants. Located in the central portion of the province, it borders Huainan to the north, Chuzhou to the northeast, Wuhu to the southeast, Tongling to the south, Anqing to the southwest and Lu'an to the west. A natural hub of communications, Hefei is situated to the north of Chao Lake and stands on a low saddle crossing the northeastern extension of the Dabie Mountains, which forms the divide between the Huai and Yangtze rivers. 

The present-day city dates from the Song dynasty. Before World War II, Hefei remained essentially an administrative centre and the regional market for the fertile plain to the south. It has gone through a growth in  infrastructure in recent years. Hefei is the location of Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak, an experimental superconducting tokamak magnetic fusion energy reactor.

Brief Introduction of the Anhui Foreign Language University
Anhui Foreign Languages University (AFLU), formally known as Anhui Foreign Languages College is founded in 2002. It is the only provincial university specialized in foreign languages education.
AFLU is located in the beautiful Zipeng Mountain National Forest Park, covering an area of 500,000 square meters. Adhering to the founding principles of 'Building a university from a high starting point, with special features and international vision', AFLU has invested in advanced teaching facilities including 47 campus experimental and training labs such as the sophisticated digitalized language labs, internet-based self-access learning center, man-machine interaction training lab, international trade workshop, stocks and investment training lab, accounting computerization training lab and finance training lab.

In addition to a logistics management training base supported by financial assistance of the central government and a tourism training base at the provincial level, the university also boasts 49 off-campus training centers and 53 internship bases. With a modern e-book storage system and campus intranet, the library has a collection of 740,000 paper books and 310,000 e-books. At present, AFLU consists of The Occidental Languages Department, The Oriental Languages Department, International Economy Department, International Commerce Department, and International Tourism Department, offering 31 majors, with a student body of over 7000 and more than 400 faculty members, including 146 professors and associate professors.

AFLU features the education mode of “foreign language + expertise + comprehensive quality”, laying emphasis on the students’ attainment of a solid foreign language foundation, competent professional knowledge, strong sense of responsibility and a broad international horizon.

    

AFLU now has 36 majors involving three disciplines (literature, economics and management science) including foreign language programs of English, Japanese, German, Korean, Russian, French and Spanish. As one of the universities offering the most foreign language programs in Anhui province, AFLU has formed its own disciplinary characteristics and has provincially accredited programs such as Tourism English, Tourism Management, Applied English, Hotel Management as well as Customs Declaration and International Freight.

Viewing quality of education as its lifeblood, AFLU has established an effective teaching administrative system. It has been promoting its teaching quality through the construction of “Outstanding Courses” such as “Intensive Japanese”, “Marketing Theory and Practice” and so on. In the past few years, the students of the university have been achieving good scores in the national College English Tests. Owing to their good performance in the qualifying examinations, many of its students have succeeded in transferring themselves into university programs. Moreover, the students have frequently won prizes in national or provincial contests of various vocational skills or foreign language abilities. With high graduates employment, AFLU is conferred the title “Advanced Unit of University Graduates’ Employment in Anhui Province”. In addition, AFLU will launch many cooperative and exchange programs with educational institutions of foreign countries such as Australia, Japan, Korea, etc.

Requirements: TEFL and two years teaching experience preferred

Monthly Salary: 8,000 - 10,000 RMB

Teaching hours: 12-16 classes per week

Age of students: 19-20 years old

Paid Holiday: Winter holiday; Two days off per week on Saturday and Sunday. *National day in October (7 days), Christmas in December (2 days)

and New Year in January (2 days) and *Labor Day in May (7 days)

Work permit : The school will provide work permit for China at no cost to the teacher.

Air-ticket Reimbursement:

On completion of a school year contract, a round way air-ticket reimbursement will be made.
