Introduction of Daqing
Situated in the west region of Heilongjiang Province, Daqing City neighbors Suihua in the east and Qiqihar in the northwest. It is bordered to the south by Jilin Province and is about 159 kilometers (99 miles) northeast of Harbin.
Daqing region was the hunting land of the Mongolian Dorbod tribe during the early years of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).Soviet Russia established Saertu Station during the construction of the Middle East Railway. Land reclamation in this region began in 1904 and villages were gradually developed. It was in 1959, with the discovery of the Daqing Oilfield, that Daqing City - formerly Anda City - was established.

The city's terrain is flat and slopes gently downward from the northeast to the southwest. The city has vast areas of meadow and water. 

When to Go: Summer and autumn

Special Local Products: Sunflowers, mung beans, carrots, monkey head mushrooms and black fungi. 

Petroleum may be Daqing's most famous export, but the full-bodied Mongolian flavor of Dorbod Mongol Autonomous County is also worth tourists' consideration. The fertile grassland, far-reaching reed marshes and lakes, natural forest and unsophisticated Mongolian flavor shape the unique atmosphere to be enjoyed in Daqing. 

Attractions:

Lotus Lake Scenic Area: the only international waterfowl hunting ground in China and wonderful summer resort of Daqing located 21 kilometers west of Dorbod Mongol Autonomous County.

Lianhua (Lotus) Lake: a South Chinese-style water town which is unusual because it is situated in a typical North Chinese industrial city. 

Recommended Scenic Spots: Museum of Petroleum Technology in Daqing, Dumeng Grassland, Lindian Hot Springs. 

Travel Tips:

1. Daqing Saertu Airport is under construction. Tourists should catch their fights from the airports in Harbin and Qiqihar. The railway connecting Harbin City and Manzhouli City in Inner Mongolia passes through Daqing. The city is also connected by railway to Inner Mongolia and Liaoning. It is more convenient for visitors to change trains at Daqing from Harbin, Qiqihar, Manzhouli, Tongliao and Chifeng.

2. Daqing Central passenger Bus Station in No.14, Huizhan Jie of Saertu District is one of the eight largest passenger transport stations in Heilongjiang Province. It is located to the right of Daqing Railway Station and offers buses to Beijing, as well as many cities and counties in Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces. 

3. Zhaoyuan Town, of Zhaoyuan County in Daqing, is the fourth largest port in Heilongjiang. It has tourist yachts which offer trips to the docks at the Sino-Russian border. 

Introduction of Daqing Medical College

The Daqing Medical College is the only medical college independently established in Heilongjiang Province. Currently it assumes the task of five levels of medical education such as regular college graduate, junior higher vocational college graduate, regular specialized school graduate, adult HEIs offering degree programs and adult short-cycle HEIs. At the same time it conducts continuing medical education. It is also the general medical education base of Heilongjiang Province, as well as the general practitioner training base and the re-employment training base of Daqing City. It now opens 8 professionals such as nursing, clinical medicine, oral medicine, rehabilitation therapy, pharmacy, stomatology technology, medical laboratory technology, and medical imaging technology. It now has 246 teaching and administrative staff, of which there are 115 full-time teachers (15 chief advanced vocational teachers and 42 associate advanced vocational teachers), and it has also recruited some high-level part-time teachers from the Daqing Oilfield Hospital, and other affiliated hospitals and teaching hospitals.

Medical Insurance: Teachers will be covered with an accident to a maximum compensation of RMB50,000. Therefore, teachers are advised to take adequate insurance cover before leaving their own country. 

Paid Holiday : 2 days off per week; public holidays in China; 40 days for winter holiday

Work permit : The school will provide work permit for China at no cost to the teacher.
