Brief Introduction of Wuhan Technical College of Communications

Wuhan Technical College of Communications is a state-run higher vocational college established with the approval of the people’s government of Hubei Province and is run directly under the provincial Ministry of Education. In its history of over 50 years, WTCC has all the time engaged in higher vocational education and training. Located in Huangjiahu University Town of Wuhan City, it has a campus of 1,120 mu with a construction area of more than 292,800 square meters. Its fixed assets are worth approximately 623 million yuan, of which the teaching instruments are of 44,114,700 yuan in value. The college library holds 897,500 various books and magazines with electronic resources?that amounts to 480,000 e-books. The college comprises 10 teaching units (Department of Ship and Marine Engineering; Department of Automobile Engineering; Department of Mechanical and Electronic Engineering; Department of Electron and Computer; Department of Transportation and Logistics Management; Department of Finance and Economics; Department of Humanities and Social Sciences; Seafarers Training Center; Teaching Practice Center and?Continual Education College) and 6 research institutes. Now there are 10,746 full-time students studying in 40 specialties, and new students all over the country are welcome to the college. 

   

   

The college has built 73 different types of experimental and training rooms inside the campus, among which, the training rooms for vocational education of modern logistics and for ship engineering technology are supported by central financing, and the training rooms for automobile engineering and for advanced mechanical and electronic technology are key programs supported by Hubei Province. In addition, the college has also built outside the campus 142 training rooms.
There are 414 full-time teachers in the college, including 126 with the title of associate professor or higher titles, 126 with postgraduate diploma or Master’s Degree, 9 specialists who enjoy special government allowances, 2 academic leaders in Ministry of Communications and 3 Chutian star professional skill teachers.
In these past 5 years, the college has gained one national scientific research project and 71 provincial teaching or scientific research projects. The staff has published 648 theses in magazines with 41 in core journals, and 108 works and text books. Its Journal of WTCC has won “Top Ten Journals” among higher vocational colleges nationwide.
The college plays the role of chairman or president in many organizations such as Ship Professional Technology Committee in Communications Education Association, Harbor and Logistics Management Association, etc.. Since 1997 it has been honored “Best Model Unit of Hubei Province” 3 times. In 2008, both Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance of Hubei Province declared WTCC an authorized exemplary higher vocational college on construction.
Through many years of practice at vocational and higher education or training for adults, the college has gained rich experience, great success and high reputation. During these 50-odd years, it has already cultivated for Ministry of Communications more than 40,000 students. 

The Teaching Positions

English Teachers Number required: 1-2 Posts

Requirements: Bachelor degree + teaching experience (TEFL Cert. preferred)

Contract Period: 1st Mar, 2023 - 15th Jan, 2024
                           1st Sep, 2023 - 15th Jul, 2024

Monthly Salary: 9000 RMB - 10500 RMB

Teaching hours: 16-18 hours per week

Age of Students: university students

Paid Holidays: two days off per week; all public holidays in China; winter holiday

Travel allowance: RMB￥2,200 will be paid when teacher finishes the contract

Medical Allowance: The school will provide free medical service at the school clinic.

Medical Insurance: Medical coverage paid by school.

Accommodations: Private apartment will be provided. It includes three private bedroom, full set of furniture. Washroom. Color TV with cable. Air-conditioner. Heating. Telephone, Washing machine. Shower, Microwave. 24 hour Free hot water supply. Internet access (broadband) at the apartment. 

Closest Airport: The teacher will be picked up by the school on arrival and transported to the airport on departure. 

Working visa: Invitation letter will be mailed to teacher to process work visa in his/her own home country before departing for China. Teachers already in China will be assisted in switching over to the university. 

International air ticket: On the Completion of the contract, the school will reimburse the Roundtrip airfare (the economic class).
